become abusers
themselves because of
unforgiveness.

someone else control
over what you are
thinking and feeling.

BEATING ODDS YOUTH MENTORING PROGRAM

The youth mentoring program addresses the issues surrounding violence that are most
relevant to youth.  The program works to determine solutions youth can use to confront
or defend oneself against aggression--and provides steps a troubled youth can perform
to avoid  the use of violence.  All resolutions and solutions are ones to which youth can
comfortably commit.  Peer-to-peer dialoguing is facilitated in a classroom setting by
trained community members who provide one-on-one mentoring as needed.
PARENTING ENRICHMENT CLASSES

The Parenting Enrichment Class promotes the development of healthy and life-affirming
values, knowledge and interaction between young adults and their children. The program
curriculum is presented using culturally and spiritually sensitive approaches, approaches
essential to strengthening the family unit.  The subject matter is valuable to individuals,
support groups, foster care workers and caregivers.
THE MISSION offers 3 core programs...

THE MISSION: PREVENTION stands against the violent and negative behavior that is
becoming the norm in America's communities.  We do not accept that a depressed economy
is the explanation for the blight that exist in many of our neighborhoods.  Nor are we willing to
pretend the level of violence brought against women has not escalated to epidemic proportions.
